Lets move 365: RUSU’s new student shelf

This week RMIT University  Student Union (RUSU) has completed a new shelf full of food for cash strapped students who need it the most. Here Sarah a RUSU worker explains the concept behind the shelf- it is there for the students who need food the most when they are on campus.

Last year the Refugee of Hope released a report about the high cost of living in Melbourne. To date, this is true. 1 out of 3 International students go without food as rent is really high. International students have to pay full fare for public transport and many are ineligible for the discounted yearly pass.

We grabbed some milk, noodles and snack and we loved it.

So do come on down to RUSU’s free food thing
