This week all of Victoria is placed back into lockdown. Here we didn’t do much except to support our favourite places and watch the tennis at home. I can watch this free from Channel 9 website. The tennis had no crowds at Melbourne Park which was a bit strange. But then on Wednesday the restrictions lifted and I enjoyed going out and supporting my favourite businesses doing it tough.
Highpoint was a bit quiet in the food court when I went so I feel for the traders that are there. But Marketplace fresh was busy.
We went to Cheaper Buy Miles on Friday and I bought my SUP fish oil priced at 3 for $10
We were home all that week and I spent a bit of time doing yoyo’s. Finding a job after all those lockdowns is hard. There aren’t a lot of jobs advertised out there and the ones that are advertised in hospitality pay terribly, below the average award rate.
On Sunday it was announced that the Government will offer some support to businesses but it’s not much. It’s only $2000 per business for the ones that had to shut up shop during the five-day lockdown. That’s not much for those that had to cancel Valentine’s day bookings and Lunar new year dinners due to the shutdowns.
The Government is also offering some $200 travel vouchers to regional areas but then you have to spend a minimum of $400 and stay two nights in the regional areas (or if you’re from Regional Victoria in the city). You then need to spend the money first and then you can claim. But we want to be daytrippers so therefore we are not eligible.
